Easter Fun

So I finally got around to scrapping some pics from Easter a few years ago. I had these great shots, but I just couldn't figure out what to do with them. I few weeks ago, I was out shopping and I saw these Memo Mouse Pads. They are mouse pads for your computer, but they are pads of memo paper. You can write on the top sheet and then tear it off. Well, they were beautiful, and green, and a little swirly - all of which I love. AND they had a built in journal box ~ perfect!  And they were on clearance for 75 cents each - how could I pass those up? Well of course, I couldn't - so I bought two of them :) And two blue ones with a different pattern on them for later,
It turns out that they made the absolute cutest mini album ever!
I glued them to chipboard, decorated them with a little bling, a couple of transparencies and a few flowers and then bound them with my BIA, tied on a few ribbons and viola` - I was done. Here is the result.

Seriously, don't those sheets make a much better mini album than a mouse pad?

The Crouton Thief

We have a long standing joke in our family about how my daughter Heather steals croutons out of my salad. Every time we are eating out and I order a salad, Heather will reach across the table and snatch a crouton out of the bowl.
EVERY TIME!
So, this layout is for you Heather.

paper, journal spot, patterned paper~  Little Yellow Bicycle
stamps ~ KI Memories and Autumn Leaves
paper lace, butterflies, photo corner ~ K & Company
paper flowers ~Prima's Painterly Petals. The crocheted flowers are from Sandyvint on Ebay.
I finished with some pearls from Kaiser Kraft.
I hope everybody is having a great day. I am off to cook lunch for my Gussie then off to the nursing home to feed her.

Fairy Jade

This layout was a try-out of some new products. I recently bought some wondrous new things called Pearlescent Liquid Acrylics and they are made by Daler-Rowney . They are wonderful, shimmery inks that can be brushed or sprayed onto your paper for a great effect.

For this page I made a mask using my Cricut cartridge Nursery Rhymes ~ I loved this little fairy couple ~ and used it for the background. I put my liquid acrylic in a mini-mister from Ranger and sprayed over and around to get the coverage that I wanted. The rest went together pretty quickly. The background cardstock is from the Coordinations Washboard line. The paper punch is from Martha. The lace is from May Arts. The beautiful flowers, the pearls and the jeweled butterfly are from Prima, of course!  The sketch that I used was the April Build A Page from Prima

These photos were proofs that we got from the photographer, but they were fabulous shots and I wanted to do something with them. I love how this page turned out.

Now, a note on the mini-mister and the liquid acrylics. The website says that they have particles that are too big to be sprayed thru a fine sprayer. I didn't have any problem spraying them. BUT - I did learn the hard way that you cannot STORE the liquid acrylic in the mini-mister :( - you have to empty it and wash it after each use or it will dry inside the mini-mister and then your mini-mister will never work again.

Bliss

This picture was one I took at my youngest daughters Debutante Ball (it's a Southern Thing). This was after the formal presentation and the waltzing and the dinner. She and her friends were just playing around and having fun - with a balloon of all things. There is my beautiful daughter, dressed in her cotillion gown, with her hair done up in curls and pearls, her date in his tuxedo  - and they are batting a balloon around!
For this layout I used a base of Bazzill cardstock with Heidi Grace papers. I used a Cuttlebug die and embossing folder to make the flower petals at the top of the page and them stamped them with Technique Tuesday stamps. I also stamped around the page with random swirly stamps (gotta love those!) and used Stickles on a few of the images. I added a Prima flower that has been painted with Sparkle Modge Podge and then I stitched all around the white layer of cardstock (there is a green layer not shown in the photo).

The weather here in Dallas is miserable tonight! Rain, rain, rain :( and lots of wind. Here's hoping that it improves tomorrow.
