Today I have a layout from our spring break camp trip
down to Sam Houston National Forest. It was a great park, except for one
teeny, tiny, little detail. The place was crawling with poison ivy.
And I am deathly allergic to poison ivy.
So instead of hiking at the park, we went into
town to shop. :o)

I have used Bazzill, Basic Grey,  and some other PP's that are so old I can not even
tell you what they are! The journal spots are October Afternoon, the chipboard is Leaky Shed
Studios, washi tape is recollections.
The sayings are cut from a Bella BLVD page, and I used WOW
embossing powders along with Tom Holtz stains on the chipboards.
Tsukineko inks, my sewing machine, Echo Park die cuts, Prima Flowers,
MME brads, and some stuff from my stash.

OK,, seriously, I used the same color cardstock for both sides, I photographed them in the same place at the same time, and the are different colors in the photo????? Don't you just love PSE some days?????
I used Spellbinders dies for the sun and for the piece on the far left of the layout,
and a Sizzix folder to emboss.

I have used two sketches for this layout Sketchabilities  and Stuck on U Sketches

Here is Stuck On U Sketches

Crocodile Dentist

Good evening everyone!
It is Tuesday, so it is time for a new palette over at ColourQ

This weeks colors were so fun!
I have made a layout with photos from some time ago - 2006.
This little travel game is still with us in our family. The "kids" still play it
whenever we are all together.

I did this whole layout and realized that I had not used even one
tiny piece of patterned paper! So I had to add the corner pieces.
I used SU and Bazzill cardstock, Prima, Sassafrass Lass and Thickers alphas, The Girl's Paperie,
some ribbon, LYB die cut, Tsukineko inks.

The stick pins I made myself, see the tutorial here.

For the title I used Thinkers and alphas from Sassafras Lass.

This large piece of paper with the journal spot is in fact a sheet from a mouse pad!
I bought a couple of them a few years ago to make a mini album with.
You can see that album HERE

Here is a look at this weeks palette from ColourQ
 Super fun right!!
Be sure to hop over to the blog and see the goodness that the
fabulous ladies on the DT have come up with!

I have also used the sketch from Sketches in Thyme #84
You have until the end of the month to join in the fun over at
Sketched in Thyme so be sure to get over there!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Have a great week!

A Love Beyond Measure

Yee Hawww -- It is Friday Ya'll!!!

Thank goodness. Too bad it is 106 degrees here in Dallas :o(
That is hot!! But not as hot as when I loved in Yuma, AZ!
And before someone says it, no - it is not a dry heat in Yuma!
Yuma sits right on the Colorado river! It is hot and humid there!!!
My layout today is made using fabulous supplies I got from The Crafty Scrapper
in Waxahachie. The best scrapbook store in North Texas! If you are
anywhere near you should stop by and see the girls.
Sooooo many great things to buy there!!

I made this layout for the Fabulous Friday Challenge over at Frosted Designs - the challenge
this week is to use patterned paper only.
So,,, does everyone see my cardstock????? Yep,. as soon as I was done, I realized I
had used cardstock as the background!!  (sigh) Such is life.
I have used 7 Gypsies paper from the new Trousseau collection - really great colors!
I love these little chipboard plaques from Maya Road. They make the best bases for titles on my layouts!

I just picked up this chippie from Dusty Attic yesterday - love it!!

This chippie fairy is from Petaloo and I painted it with Viva decor and used
Ranger Crackle and glitter to dress it up.

I used the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy which was perfect for that chipboard I was
jonesing to use!

I am also linking up at the following challenges:
Southern Girls Challenges - Angels / Fantasy - my little fairy
Bird Is The Word - "Beyond"
Catered Crop  - Ruffles

And be sure to hop over to Frosted Designs to see all the yummy goodness the DT
has on display this week for the PP challenge. You will surely want to
join the fun!

Beach Babies

Hello to all my blogging friends!
I am finally unpacked from retreat last weekend and ready to create again!

Today I have a layout I made with new papers from Authentique. Is there anybody who does
not love their stuff???? All of these papers, die cuts and ribbons are available at The Crafty Scrapper so be sure to stop by and get yours.

How fabulous are these colors??? Makes me want to run back to the beach right now!!!
I have also used chipboard from Dusty Attic and Unique Pages, Jenni Bowlin paint, WOW Embossing powders (which are THE BOMB if you have never tried them) Tsukineko inks, Bazzill Raven cardstock, Tim Holtz dies, paper doileys from the craft store, and some other random things.

Dig the WOW embossing powder. I painted and while the paint was still wet, I sprinkled the powder on randomly. I used the heat gun to melt the powder and dry the paint.

The die cut sheet in the paper line is awesome,, I don't generally like those, but this one is great.
All the words around the outside of the page came from the one die cut sheet!!!

I have used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme
Instead of the circle, I used the big square doiley that I cut the center out of
and put around the layout.

I am also linking up at the following challenges:
Divas By Design - Anything goes
Catered Crop - Ruffles (my ruffled ribbon)
Make It Monday - any papercraft project

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful week :o)

not that I am complaining mind you, rain this time of year is
fabulous!! I have used Basic Grey papers and SU cardstock and ribbon, EK Success punch,
MME Brad, Jenni Bowlin journal card, and Thickers.

Here is a look at this weeks palette

Washi Tape - Frosted Designs FF

Howdy all!! Have you recovered from the holiday??
I am just barely getting there! But I have managed to squeeze in some shopping
time. Nothing like new products to get you up and out
of the house :o)

Today it is Fabulous Friday over at Frosted Designs and the challenge
this week was Washi Tape. Now, I have a little secret to share,
I did not even own a roll of washi tape until the beginning
of this month. For those of you who saw my Craft Space Blog Hop Post
you might find this a little hard to believe, but it is true!! So I had
to pick up a couple of rolls at convention!

I bought these great bottles at a garage sale a little while back with the
intent to use them for storage in my craft room.
The problem is, I can't get the labels off of them. Not even using Goof-Off.
So I decided to cover them up instead.
I also have a bunch of these super cute little bottles from Cracker Barrel. Same problem.
What are they using for glue?????
So I used some cardstock and washi tape to make them a little prettier.
This little bottle is going to be filled with "Pixie Dust" (really the powder candy from the Pixie Stix) and I am going to send them to my DD2 who is working as a camp counselor in upstate NY this summer.
These are going to be filled with who knows what? Buttons, brads, twine maybe???
Something. But for $3 I could not pass them up!!!

So that is my project with washi tape.
Be sure to hop over to the Frosted Designs Blog and join in on the fun.
The Fabulous Friday challenge is all about using what you have.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Gimme S'mores!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!
I am ready for some BBQ and blackberry cobbler later today - yummy!

Today's layout has photos from a campout my DD2 and I took
earlier this year at spring break to Sam Houston National Forest in South Texas.
Lovely park - but lots of poison ivy!!

Today I am using new papers from Pink Paisley from
The Crafty Scrapper the best little scrapbook store in North Texas!
If you are anywhere near Waxahachie, you need to detour on over
and stop in. You will swoon!!!!
How fabulous are these papers and die cuts!!!!  I also used a page from MME Bohemia
for the background, Jenni Bowlin, Prima, MS punch, lace, Doodlebug buttons,
Cosmo Cricket and Thickers alphas, and Glimmer mist.

I wanted my banner to have a little more presence against the background, so I backed them with blue Bazzill cardstock and added a tiny button at the end of each one.

I made the flower by fussy cutting 4 layers of of the paper, then using a corner punch on
one layer, adding some lace in, and foam squares for added dimension.

True Colors

Is everyone ready for the holiday??
I am not sure what we are going to do.
Maybe BBQ and break out the sno-cone machine.
That sounds nice and cool.

Today I have a layout for my Flamingo Chronicals album.
Yes, it does relate to the name of my blog, it is all about a particular set of friends.
Click on the page above and you can read all about how we got our name :o)

I have used: MME, Bazzill, Tsukineko, Cosmo Cricket, Queen and Co, Prima,
Jenni Bowlin, Maya Road, McGill, MS, Stampin Up, Bella Blvd, Recollections,
Viva Decor, Pearlescent Liquid Acrylics and some lace and ribbon.

I am so loving these Jenni Bowlin Journal cards I bought at convention.
I bought 3 pads of them in different colors, using them like crazy!!

I thought this needed a little pop of color, so I fussy cut the flowers from on of the papers and added them .
I used Viva Decor's Glitter Pen to add all the sparkle on my page.

True friendship right here! It is legendary that Michelle doesn't wear bowling shoes!

I used the sketch from over at Stuck On U Sketches for this one

I am also linking up at the following challenges:

Have a great holiday!!

Published this month in Scrapstreet :o)

Good morning everyone!
I am so happy to share my first publication with you.
I had never submitted to be published before, but it was on my list
this year, so I sent a few things into Scrapstreet Magazine
They are a great online Ezine if you have never checked them out before.

Two of my submissions were selected!
You can find me at the bottom of the page HERE with this layout, which I submitted in the
Chevrons call
I used Creative Scrappers sketch #202 on this. They didn't get credit in the article,
and I am not sure if the fault is mine for not including the info, or there wasn't enough space.
But I wanted to make sure they got credit!

and at the bottom of the page HERE with these tags, which I submitted in the Technique Turn
call, which was Misting this month.

Be sure to check out the issue, lots of great things going on, and a free digital download every month!

Sisterly Love????

Howdy blogging friends!
It seems forever since I blogged. I have been trying to get a few
home improvement projects done here. We have been remodeling for about 3 years now.
The kitchen is done, and the living room was finished too. But I wanted to do a little something to
the big red brick hearth that we had on one wall.
So this is before. This was the one thing I have always hated about my house!
And here is after! Love this so much more!!! I whitewashed the brick using acrylic wall
paint. It was pretty easy all in all. Yes, that is Spanky dog laying in the floor there!
So, that is where I have been all week!

I did manage to get a little scrapping in this morning. I have a layout using the new case over at CSI
I have used Echo Park papers, Prima, K&Co, Queen and Co, EK Success punch, Tsukineko, Jenni Bowlin, ribbon from my stash, vintage sheet music and some white cardstock.

I used my Inka-Gold to paint the chipboard crown.
Stamp is from Recollections.

Here is a look at the Case this week
Be sure to check it out. These are really fun challenges!!

I also used the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy
Great sketches here. I just found this site a few weeks ago! Love them!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Now that camp is over and projects are
winding down, I should be able to get back to blogging again :o)
