Family photo - circa 1974

Well,, this almost never happens - two blog posts in one day.

Since it is Tuesday we have a new palette up over at ColourQ. and
the colors this week were really fun. Although they are very Halloween-ish, I
don't have a lot of Halloween photos, so I went with an everyday layout instead.

I used Basic Grey and Bo Bunny papers for this layout, along with Prima flowers, Fiskars punches, several chippies, Jenni Bowlin and Ranger paints, October Afternoon journal spot, Tsukineko inks and Fireworks Spray, pearls from Recollections, and my sewing machine.

So,, after I finished with the layout, I realized that I wrote the wrong year on here!! It was actually 1974 - not 1976 :o(  I have to go back and fix that.

All the chipboard pieces were painted with JB dabbers, then topped with either
crackle paint, dry brushed with a lighter coat, or inked.

Here is the palette from ColourQ this week
Very fun colors,, yes???? Be sure to stop by the blog and see the fabulous
inspiration the DT has put up. You have until next Sunday at noon to link up your
project on the blog. Come and play along!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Memories - Sketchabilities #78

Good morning fellow bloggers!
Are you ready for Halloween? I have my candy bought, but
I did not decorate this year. I just can't seem to find the time!
Maybe tomorrow. Yeah,,, right!

Today it is time for a new reveal at Sketchabilities
here is my take on the sketch

My papers are a mix of Glitz, 7 Gypsies and Harmonie. I also used chippies from Leaky Shed Studio, Prima, Basic Grey button, Tsukineko inks, Cosmo Cricket brad and my sewing machine.

The journal spot is a die cut from Glitz Designs. The chippie is from Leaky Shed Studios. I painted it with Jenni Bowlin dabber, and then used WOW embossing powder on it. I love the effect I get when I sprinkle the powder onto wet paint and heat it.

This piece is also from Leaky Shed - if you have not ever shopped with them you should check them out. They have great stuff and it is made right here in the good ol' USA!  I used Jenni Bowlin dabbers on this one too.

Here is a look at Sketch #78
Be sure to come by and play along. Karen has the best sketches ever!

This is the second page of a two page layout. I posted the first page a little earlier here
this is what they look like together

In my quest to use up the paper I have, I pulled some papers I bought eons ago (well, maybe last year!) and even though they are from different companies I like they way they looked together. I used the same patterns on both pages to make sure that they coordinated.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
If you are on the east coast - take cover!!!!

Time Capsule

Yeehaw Y'all - it's Friday!!!
I am ready for the weekend - it has been a busy week!
Last night I went and played Bunco - have you ever played that game? I had never
played it before and it is as little strange at first - we moved tables and partners every 5 minutes
I swear! It was like musical chairs with dice! I have a friend who is walking 62 miles
for breast cancer next month and this was a fundraiser for her. We had a great time!

Since it is Friday we have a new Fabulous Friday Challenge over at Frosted Designs
and this week we are using mists/paints/inks on our projects. Surely you can
play along with us on that - you know you have some of those things in
your stash - get them out and play along!
These photos show a Time Capsule that my Girl Scout Troop made when they were in JR High. It was part of a Badge activity,, so they wrote notes to themselves, added something that represented them and sealed up the capsule. It was to be opened the spring of the SR year of high school. Well you know how sometimes you just forget things,,,,, ummm yeah,,,,, this was in the attic and we forgot about in the rush of SR activities. So when I ran across it the next year, like 18 months late, they opened it then. Still counts, right????

My papers for this were a mix of 7 Gypsies, Harmonie, and Glitz Design. I also used MS punches, Ditto spray ink, Tsukineko inks, Prima and other flowers, Bella BLVD alphas, Ranger Crackle paint, and my sewing machine. The crocheted flower was made by a friend of mine - she is awesome.

I have no idea what stamp sets I used - they were not in the package and I don't remember who made them. I used Ranger Crackle paint on the pennants - and they are from Maya Road.

Be sure to come by and join us at Frosted Designs this week. This was the easiest challenge I
think we have ever had!

Thanks for stopping by today

Hello every one, today I am here with my post for Craft Storage Ideas and I am going to share with you a fabulous studio and you will just drool when you see it. Katie Tate from Both Sides of The Paper has an amazingly organized and well thought out space to work and play in. Katie lives just up the road from me,, I am going to have to get up there to see her space in person pretty soon. I may never leave once I get there! Here are some of my favorite spots in her room;

Katie says:    Here is my wonderful desk! The work surface is a full 4' by 5', lots of space to spread out. The island is made of Jetmax cubes that are raised up on my plinth that my lovely husband made from wooden and base board molding. The top is a piece of MDF trimmed with wooden beading and then painted white to match. The front side holds all my 12" by 12" cardstock and my paper stacks and other designer paper. (Below) On this side are small drawers that hold my wooden dies, Sizzix dies and Big Shot dies.

Did someone say punches???? Take a look at this!!

Here is my wall of punches. These are all "old style" pre Martha Stewart. I have been a "Punch addict" since I started paper crafting and so have gathered a big collection. Sadly these tend to get a little neglected in favor of the newer styles but some, such as circles, squares, tags etc, will always be used.

Martha! I use can risers to store the punches as it makes a little space work really well. I got mine at Target but I know the container store sells them too in the pantry section.

This is my Expedit and it holds (going from top to bottom) my rubber stamps, my color cubes, Christmas products and then my acrylic stamps.

There are lots more photos and a video of Katie's studio so be sure to stop by and take a look. You will be amazed at what you see.

A Wedding Album

Good Afternoon my blogging friends!
Did you think I dropped off the face of the earth? I didn't , I have just
been scrapping away. I have gotten so much done I am super happy.
And I have been spending a lot of time in the gardens as it is the
time of year to get the beds ready for the winter. I love this time of year!!

Today I want to share a wedding album I made recently.
There are a lot of photos today! Sorry!

I made the album itself out of chipboard, it measures 5.5 X 7.5. All the papers I used are from Websters Pages and are from a variety of lines.
The book will be used as a guest book. Guests will also write wishes for the couple in the book so there are lots of tags tucked into the pockets and plenty of journal spots.

Both of the photos mats of the right side flip up to reveal more space for journaling or more photos.

I am linking up to the following challenges:
Divas By Design - use the color orange
Make It Monday - Come share your project

There are lots more photos of the project on my Facebook page so be
sure to take a look. I didn't want to bombard you will all of them here on the blog!!

Thanks for stopping by today for a visit. I love to read your comments and hear what you
are thinking. :o) Have a great day.

Pumpkin Painting - ColourQ #159

Good morning to everyone in blog land!
I hope you are having the same beautiful weather that we
are having here! Fall is wonderful in North Texas.

Today there is a new palette up at ColourQ
and it is perfect for those Halloween photos of your
little cutie pies! These photos are from my
Girl Scout Troop, waaaayyy back in the day!

All my papers are from Echo Park - the Chillingsworth Manor line. Embellishments from
Prima, Basic Grey, craft supply, Maya Mist, ribbon is unknown, Tsukineko inks, Glue Dots®, Scotch ATG, and some foam tape.

The journal cards, quotes and other die cuts are all from the Echo Park line as well.

All these cute little pennants came on the die cut sheet and I just cut them out, added foam tape to the back and lined them up. Super easy!

Here is a look at the fabulous palette Arielle has for us this week

Wild Side - Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday! Yeah the weekend is here!
It is a little rainy here, but I am hoping it will clear up!
It is time for another Fabulous Friday challenge at Frosted Designs and this
week the Challenge is "Wild" - I have chosen to interpret this with a quick album
about a trip the hubs and I took to Vegas a few years back.

I don't have many photos from the trip so this is by far the
THINNEST album I have ever made!!
I have used a couple of pieces of acrylic left over from another project for the covers.
The pages of the album I made with postcards we picked up while there.

It is so rainy here and overcast I have not been able to get decent pictures.
I am hoping to get some better ones this afternoon,
and I will post them then!

Be sure to hop over to Frosted Designs and join in the fun.
You have until next Thursday to link up your project.

Thanks for stopping by today!

December Daily 2011

Howdy blogging friends.  Sorry I have been MIA for a few days,
I have had family in town visiting over the last week and haven't spent much time
online or scrapping. So happy to get back into my studio today
and get some scrapping done!!!

Today I have my December Daily from last Christmas
to share with you. It was the first time I did a December Daily
and although I enjoyed it, I don't know that I will do another one again
this year. Since we don't have small kids at home anymore it was hard to
some up with something to document each day. There were even several
days that I skipped!  Here is a look,,,,

*****Warning! Lots of photos!!*****

I used a Melissa Francis kit for this project. Along with the kit I added MME die cuts, some Teresa Collins, Little Yellow Bicycle, DoodleBug, and a few other things from my Christmas bucket.
The kit from Melissa Frances included the covers, 10 6X6 pages, 2 vellum sheets, and 2 manilla envelopes. That was enough for me to do the whole album! And it was only $10!! It came with rings, but I dislike using rings on my albums so I used my Cinch to bind it instead.

The numbers for the pages came from a Teresa Collins sheet and I used my
EK Success punch to cut them out.

The fabulous clear overlay on this page is from LYB - I have had them for years!

These die cuts are also from LYB - I bought an 8X8 pad from them a few years back and I am so glad to be able to finally use it up!
The great tag here was made by a friend.

Here is where I skipped a few days,, There was just nothing going on between the 14th and the 18th!
Ok - I saw this great thing on Pinterest - use fishing line to hang ornaments from your curtain rods, chandeliers, etc all over the house. Easy, right? NO - it is not!! This took me an entire day to do!!!

The best part of the day - I made my girls go on a scavenger hunt for their presents all over the house. I put the card with the first clue in an envelope under the tree. They thought it was a gift card! AND - I got to use some Daisy D's Christmas die cuts that I bought forever ago.
I had space in the bad to add some of the cards we received from friends. No, I did not make these fabulous cards, I just have very talented friends!

Are you still with me?? So there you have it - my December Daily for last year.
I hope you grab a few ideas from it. And check out those Melissa Frances Kits - I know she has a few this season too. They are the bomb, and the perfect size - 6X6.

I am linking up at the following challenges:
Make It Monday - Anything goes
Use Your Stuff - Journal Strips
City Crafters -inspirational quote
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
