Mixed Media Foiled Heart

Valentine Day is coming up and that means it is time to change out the art projects on the entryway table. This year I wanted to use the fun new colors of Deco Foil Transfer Sheets that were just released last month. The Gold Shattered Glass is my favorite color of the bunch - it is amazing! I used felt to create the Mixed Media Foiled Heart at the center of my Deflecto Frame.

I used a precut felt piece from the dollar store as the base of my design. I cut lots of heart shapes using an old Fiskars punch. I inked the heart shapes and adhered them behind the larger heart shape randomly.

The Deflecto 8 1/2 X11 Pink Craft Frame is very versatile and I use it for so many things. You can slide your photo inside and decorate the outside. I like to add my embellishments to the outside so I can switch out the photo from time to time.

Foiled chipboard
I used two colors of Deco Foil on a felt heart. In order to achieve this look I spread Deco Foil transfer Gel over the felt. When it was dry along the edges, but not in the center, I used the Gold Shattered Glass foil sheet and ran it through my laminator. Since the gel in the center was not dry - the foil will not adhere! I let the felt sit until the rest of the gel was completely dry and then ran it back through the laminator using  a sheet of the Wild Cherry foil.

I used Teal foil for the chipboard pieces and then sanded a few places to give them a distressed look. To finish off the design I added some Prima flowers and a piece of black cardstock inside the frame to make the design pop.
